How to recognise a Melton Mowbray Pork Pie

How do authentic Melton Mowbray Pork Pies differ from other pork pies?

Melton Mowbray pork pies have a distinctive "bow walled" shape which is the result of it being baked without the support of a hoop or tin. Other similar products are straight sided having been baked in a hoop or a tin.

They have distinctive pastry necessary to enable the pies to be baked unsupported.

Our pork pies are made using uncured pork. Many other pies contain cured pork and so are pink in colour.

Melton Mowbray pork pies have a higher meat content.

They have no hydrogenated fats, or artificial colours, flavours and preservatives.
